Direct Care Professional Job Description & Responsibilities

Our team must abide in “people first” by modeling positive support, encouragement and demonstrate the act of kindness for all. The team of support is responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance for individuals we service. Our home and community base provide daily support for individuals diagnose with intellectual developmental disabilities in their residence living and community activities.

Common job duties for a DCP include, yet not limited to;

  • Emphatic Caring Personality
  • Administering Medication or Medical appointments
  • House Chores, Cook Meals, Laundry
  • Errands, Groceries Shopping
  • Community Activities
  • Observation / Supervision and report any change
     
  • Ability to lift up to weight up to 50 pounds
  • Good Written & Verbal Communication Skills
  • Positive Behavioral Support
  • Habilitation Objectives
  • Activity Daily Living Skills
  • Behavioral Plan
  • Daily Documentation & Organization Skills
  • Team Meeting & on – going Training
  • Valid CRP / 1st Aid, Article 9, Prevention & Support
  • Must be 18 or older, high school diploma or equivalent
